Edited to add- she is 16 weeks old and weighs just under 5 pounds. Her mom weighed 10 pounds and Dad weighed 6 pounds.
Hi! Your pup is indeed very very cute! But my first instinct looking at these pictures was; Wiener dog mixed with Yorkie. The texture of the coat is wirey. The body and the legs are very long. The muzzle is long and of course the color is different than that of a Yorkie or a red yorkie for that matter. There are Yorkies with gene defects which results in what they call "off colored" yorkies, but I think your baby goes beyond that though. There are tons and tons of breeders out there who are breeding dogs that should not be bred simply because they do not represent the standard. A dog's entire blood line needs to be on the up and up because a defect or a different breed dog can show up in the litter many generations later! I've seen puppies from the same litter that had 2 chocolate ones and 2 standard ones! There's a difference between having a different color Yorkie and having a Yorkie that looks nothing like a Yorkie. Reputable breeders go the extra mile, by DNA testing their dogs for gene defects and those breeders will want to have breeder dogs with champions in their lines as well! If breeding is done right, with the right dogs with the right lines, "mistakes" are next to none! This breeder needs to be stopped as she obvioulsy doesn't know her lines very well, trying to report her to the AKC and demanding your money back is worth a try!? Honestly, I don't know what I would do either if I were you (keeping your new baby or not) but I can understand your frustrations as my very first Yorkie, 12 years old now, grew to be 10 Ibs, has huge ears and a funny gait, but he's the smartest and most loyal dog one could ever hope to have and while his "sibling" might be more "attractive" than he is, he sure makes up for it with attitude and I don't ever regret falling in love with him!
