 what will having a dog in heat be like?

Ok, if it is better to wait, can anyone tell me what the next couple of weeks will be like with her heat?? Messy? I guess I can use diapers but I'm not sure she will tell me when she has to potty?? Crap....I'm stressed now. But it sounds best to wait. I did ask the vet office, my vet was not there so they talked to another vet and told me it was ok to go ahead with it. Hmmmm?
