When you say you have to be careful that it doesn't go into the kidneys, how does one prevent that?

I clean the litter box every day but she is still going in odd places. I have had to ban her from the living room cause of it. I think I will check out if I can find cranberry capsules or tablets at the health food store. Those would be a lot easier to get down her. I wish those darn checks I'm expecting would get here.... then I could take her in.

Thanks for the info!

Cats can have cranberry jucie but getting them to drink it is another story, lol! You can mix an ounce or 2 with food also. You have to be careful it doesnt go into the kidneys and cause an infection there. Making the cat drink more fluids (water or cranbery) will help flush out any potential bacteria also. Keep the litter box clean so they aren't tempted to not go potty and hold their pee.

Watch to make sure the urethra isn't becomming blocked with crystals, this is a sign its becomming more seriously infected. The best way is with anti-biotics, but she says some UTI's can go away on their own with these simple remedies. See a vet when you can if it gets worse or you find the funds for the vet.

Hope this helps ya! Good luck
