Thanks for the reply. I spoke in length today with the vet and he said it's a staph infection. I just don't understand how it's spreading the way it is, so I'm going to do some more research. Treatment right now is: Malaseb Shampoo and Spray, Genesis Spray and oral medrol. Seems a big better today, so I hope we're on the right track. I checked into mange and he's not losing his hair in any areas and doesn't seem to be itching or biting at himself...just these little "scabby" areas all along the spine. Very strange as you would think they are bites, and at first I thought they were fleas, but they did some scrapes and tooks some samples of hair from the area and now bugs. Has anyone dealt with this before? I have him groomed and bathed every month and both dogs are up to date with all their shots, checkups and dual flea control. The other dog has no signs of any problems. |
