I know for humans you can use cranberry juice or supplements. I don't know if that is safe for cats though.
A root canal??? Sorry to hear that. I used to be a dental assistant and I thought root canals were SO boring to do cause they tooekso long. I used to almost fall asleep sitting there... LOL Hope all goes well for you.
