I bought belle from a breeder whose ad i saw in the local paper... i went and met with him, and though i didnt like him personally, he was knowledgeable about yorkies and he'd been breeding for a long time... i met mom and dad, and took belle home with me a week later, he was very accomodating about payment plans and such... i don't think you'd be bad for placing an ad in the paper, just make sure you feel comfortable with the people you select... and maybe make a few follow up calls after they take the puppy home, that's what my breeder did... he called to make sure belle was doing ok and stuff, and he offered to puppy sit for her if i needed him to, i never took him up on the offer, seeing as i didn't like him... but he made sure his puppy went to a good home...and i'm still loving her, a year and a half later...and hopefully for many to come |
