I know what you mean. Our allergy dog grew out of it eventually, (after we replaced all of the grass in the backyard). Your vet should be able to test for allergies. Also, you might think about using Dreft laundry detergent on his blankets and things until you know whats goin on. My puppy, Sarge, scratches his ears and bites his feet also. I got his ears chacked and there was nothing. The vet clipped his nails and he stopped biting his feet just like that. Check if his nails are too long or if there are any hairs or anything that might be irritating him. As for the gooey nose, might just be a cold or something...take him to the vet to check that out.
