When I worked at our local school, it was called TAG (talented and gifted). My sister's little girl has been in it since 1st grade...she is super smart and is so quick with math, etc. Our program was not only about different or extra work, but extra fun stuff as well. They have gone on learning trips and have done learning games. They only meet 1 hour per school week though.
