Those feet and the head look on the straighter side to me so I'd definitely say silk. The silks that you see coming out of Europe, Brazil and Argentina are all very thick, very straight even as puppies, and have a rougher texture when they are young. They mature into a very heavy, harty silk coat with a slightly thicker strand than what we commonly see in the US. I've hed several experienced handlers/breeders go over Danali's coat and they confirm that is the European type silk. Roxie has thrown 2 pups with this coat type though I don't know of any ancestors of hers that are from outside the US. Roxie is a redleg so it may have something to do with that. Since your baby has Spanish roots I would guess that is where the coat comes from. It's an easier coat to deal with, grows relatively quickly, breaks less easily, and rarely matts. Danali's coat does pick up every bit of grass and leaf that she comes in contact with though, good thing it doesn't matt!
