Yes there are alot of set backs when a new dog comes in the house but that is normal..Reece was trained when Soleil came here and then he started marking..it didnt last long though and he was showing Soleil just where to go..I crate trained mine also and they still go in there at night..or sleep with me occasionally too..
Do you have a fenced in yard or do you have to take them out yourself? When they go outside for a pee or poo..give tons of praise and dont do anything when they pee or poo in the house..no words at all...outside when they go either give them a treat for going or lots of praise..dogs love to please and you will be suprised how quickly they want to please mommy!!
