 My young dog had similar symptoms
Hi, I don't want to be an alarmist but my dog Brooke had the same symtoms. She was walking wobbly an tilting her head. At first the vets thought it was a disc in her back, then maybe a liver shunt and then after going to a specialist and much testing, we were told to go to a neurologist. We went to UC Davis veterinary hospital, which has some of the best neurologists in the country. Brooke had a spinal tap and an MRI and was diagnosed with an inflammatory brain disease, GME. If Sophie does not get better after she gets off the meds she is on, I would consider seeing a veterinary neurologist. GME can be maintained with meds but a diagnosis needs to be made promptly and most regular vets never see a case, so sometimes they waste time with many other treatments. Good luck and I hope they figured out what she has and she will be better in no time! But if she isn't better, please consider what I have said.
