I actually know of several dogs who have eaten OL Roy all of their lives and lived to a nice, old age. We have a hound that eats a similar, lower end of the spectrum food and would absolutely starve herself before she'd eat anything else. I think good quality foods are important, but over rated sometimes.
Anyway...if she asked for your advice, then she shouldn't be shocked when you give it to her and you shouldn't feel bad about doing it. If she doesn't like it, then she won't ask again.
