When he goes into his "attack-mode", have you tried ignoring him for a few minutes by turning your back on him immediately and not playing with him? (same thing for the bites, except with some high-pitched sound to make sure he knows that it hurt)?
Also, when you go through room doors and stuff, it'll help to always go first before the dog. If your dog goes through the room door before you do, stay back and ignore him. Praise him if he follows you through the door. This lets your dog know that you are the leader =)
