I think you need to take some deep breaths. He is still very much a puppy and with some training and guidance he will make a wonderful companion. Did you think you were getting a fully trained dog at 5 months? Not to be rude, but Mckenzie is nearly 8 months and nowhere near trained and we work on it daily.

Maybe give the new puppy small amounts of food at a time, since he is eating so quickly. Take him out every 30 minutes to potty. Be gentle with him, he's new to your home and I'm sure even if he did have some training, your house is a whole new game as far as potty training goes. I know that mine are mostly trained and will still go potty inside at someone else's home simply because it's different.
