you just took him out of the only environment he has ever been in. Give him time, he is probably very nervous. Sounds like he was very hungry if he inhaled the food, but if you have to, hand feed him so he gets the proper amount. You may want to keep the food put up where he can't help himself.
Give him a week and he will be the best dog you could of asked for! Yorkies can be very stubborn, but they also are very smart! They want to please you, but right now he does not even know your his new mommy, he is scared and confused.
