I agree, rent a pet isn't a very good situation for the animal. BUT...... maybe "share a pet" would be better. Only 2-3 people, sharing a pet. I know that Shelby and Seymour LOVE to visit with our parents and they feel right at home there. They have their favorite places at their house, just like they have them at ours. I think that it may work with only a few people. They have to be able to share expenses and work out a schedule...... but no worries about boarding when vacationing or having to go somewhere that a pet can't go.
Of course, I couldn't Share mine.... I just gotta have them with me all the time!!!
