I'm new here. Just delighted to find this group.

This is a question/survey for all breeders. Do you have your breeding stock evaluated for LP? I was just made aware that OFA has a data base and issues certificates for this.

My vet doesn't feel comfortable grading very young puppies and kind of hemmed and hawed about what age he WOULD feel comfortable.

We purchased our brood bitch as a show prospect and her stifles had been x-rayed and graded clear. The breeder has been working with her vet and doing this for a long time. She only breeds individuals with excellent stifles. I am very interested in producing Yorkies that can live out their lives as housepets, show dogs or performance dogs and good stifles are needed for all.

My other request is for information about vets in the Portland, Oregon area who are competent doing this exam, particularly if they will grade young puppies.
