Yeah, pretty much.
All any breeder (who goes about things the right way) can do is to hope they can break even and make enough so that their program can be self-supporting finacially. There is one very established show breeder here that also grooms dogs to help support her program.

I was referring to your post where you said you'd once planned to take money off of a litter and buy a breeding female, indicating that you'd expected there to be profit...? Sorry if I took that statement the wrong way. Again though, as long as you have been here, I'm sure you know by now not to bank on that.
And I am glad that you understand my point. I wish nothing but the best for you and Baby and this coming litter. I know that you will try to do what is in her best interest and just take the 'accident' as a lesson learned. What is done is done, may as well take lemons and make lemonaide, as the saying goes.
