If you're planning on feeding kibble, I love Canidae All Life Stages bc you never have to switch the food when they become adults. Since you're in Canada, you'd also have easy access to Orijen, which I love - a really great higher protein food. But, you'd want to switch very slowly if the baby is currently on a less-rich food than Orijen.
For grooming, I like a wire pin brush (not a slicker) and a flea comb for mats. I use a toothbrush to get out the "eye-boogers".
