When I turned 16, my mom
handed me a car. I didn't have to pay for anything on it. It was time for her to get a new car, so she gave me her 96' Toyota Camry. My mom had the means to do it, and I guess she thought I deserved it. I carried a 4.0 gpa all through highschool, worked and played softball. When I was 18, my dad bought me a Mustang that I didn't pay for either. I moved out when I was 19 (completely, financially on my own) and I have since bought a brand new car on my own (no co-signing!). I live in California where rent is a grand for a one bedroom apartment, and I can honestly say, I've never once asked my parents for help. So even though, I had 2 cars
handed to me, I didn't turn out thinking my parents should give me things. I work and go to school full-time, and pay for my own car. So, for everyone that thinks kids shouldn't be handed a car because they'll be spolied brats.... not everyone is the same!
