Welcome, Ailee & Mom!! Great advice already given! The only thing I can add is about the scratching. Toto never does that as a rule but not long ago we noticed her doing it ... took her to the vet ... turned out she was allergic to the new carpet we had just had installed! She also had teary eyes. After much cleaning of the new carpet and a little medication she cleared right up!! Looking forward to pics of little Ailee!!
