I only have them separated when they are in heat. I spend hours of one on one time with mine each day and know when they are due to come in heat. If the playing and flirting starts, I separate them immediately because even tho you breed generally around the 9-11 day after bleeding starts, some will breed earlier. My girl that just had five babies, breeds on the 5-6 day. I have a girl in the crate now that is too young to breed at ten months old. She got playfyl for about a week then got really swollen. As soon as she got swollen, I put her in the crate and sure enough she was bleeding the next morning. I have two crate. I take turns with my girls and boys so they get equal crate time and no one is co nfined more than two hours at a time except at night. This is just how I do it and I'm sure others do it differently. |
