Yep...unfortunately, already had my fight with it. I had aortic valve replacement in May, followed by three months of fighting MRSA (very resistent staph) in the incision. Can't say positively that it was contracted in the hospital; though I feel pretty sure it was - since I seemed to live between home and the hospital for three months. I kept thinking it would be best to just stay in the hospital, and get the thing killed. But, one of the team surgeons told me that "there are so many mega strains IN the hostpital (because they've killed all the little ones), they try and get their people out and back home asap". MRSA is everywhere, now; and, we have such weak immune systems from sedentary, unhealthy living - there is cause for concern. |
