what's a good product and way to brush a yorkie's teeth?

Recently, my yokie's breath has started to smell. We haven't changed her diet or anything, so I'm not sure what this is from. I called the vet, and he said to go buy some doggie toothpaste and a tiny toothbrush.

What does everyone use/do about their yorkies teeth and breath? What do you recommend?
