I found persistence is key. Using the stay command helps, also. Sometimes they just have it in their head to follow you in, though. My girls did better at our condo when they could see me in the kitchen. Now they don't like it as much because I'm usually blocked from their view so they tend to peek in. |
I wont have it any other way. My kitchen is just a kitchen separate from the dining room so he comes in and makes himself comfortable LOL, out of hte kitchen he goes, I make him sit and WAIT soon as I turn he comes back in LOL. So I know I have removed the kiddies door that was there, so now he must learn out regardless of door or no door.. He is never allowed to lag around at dinner time near my table or bfast time. i dont allow dogs to do this ever. Anything he gets to eat is either given in a special area for goodies and other than that in his bowl. But this out of the kitchen and stay out is a bit hard as the smellier the food is, the more he wants in
