The "blondies" certainly don't meet AKC or Internationa Pedigree standards for showing. I have one and adore her look. The color could be a throw-back to when Yorkies were crossed with Maltese to smooth the Yorkie coat many generations ago. The drawings of them way back when they were ratters in the Yorkshire coal mines look like their fur was pretty wiry.
