Well it depends on their coat. London's coat doesn't tangle, it's very thin. I just bathe her every week and if she has thick hair(Bella) I would brush her every other day just to make sure she doesn't tangle. Also use a good shampoo and conditioner and you might want to give vitamins like Minksheen or fish oil. Hope that helps
