I have a Maltese and want to get a Yorkie.
To answer your question, they are the same size as Yorkies. The standard calls for Maltese to be under 7 pounds with 4-6 preferred. You do see some larger ones out there just as you do with Yorkies as there are too many people who are not breeding to the standard.
The white coat is a challenge to keep clean, but worth it. They are so pretty when they are clean and white.
I know a lot of people who have both Yorkies and Maltese together.
