How big is his crate because if its to big he poops but he can go to another spot to sleep and he is still comfortable because the poop is is in the other corner. it may also depend how long the dog is outside because i leave my dag outside and when he is ready to come inside he is standing on the door. another suggesttion is to walk your dog because with the exercise it works out his his muscles and he will go eventually (this is a suggettion if the crate is to big) because my dog used to do the same thing. A puppy should at least be taken out 5 times a day because he doesnt have complete control of their organs.
