We use Linksys both at the office and at home. Both are good setups, but Netgear is less prevalent in the market. Linksys stuff is good, but their customer service is quite lacking.

When it comes to connectivity, it will just depend on where your router is in relation to where you are using your computer. Most routers will work fine in a single story home and decent in a two story home depending on square footage. If you do have issues with your wireless distance, you can just add on an extender which will increase the router's range.

Another smart idea is to make sure you encrypt the router once you set it up. This will limit anyone who tries to use your connection for free.
