I have Lacy's nails trimmed about once a month. She HATES it too and it's impossible for me to do it alone. So I normally hold her while someone trims them for me. I used to work at a dog boutique/grooming salon and she still goes up there to hang out sometimes while I'm in class so I will hold her and have a groomer trim them for me.
