I use a high quality detangler when I want my babies to have longer coats but living in the Caribbean I just think it''s easier on them to keep them in puppy cuts but for some reason just like humans, fur and nails grow 10 times as fast here (must be the sun or the salt air or something) so I have to have mine groomed and cut far more often than when I had a yorkie in the States. Now that princess is preggers I'm taking her in for her shortest cut yet just to keep everything easy for her.

I too am envious of people who can maintain the full coat for a yorkie, maybe some day I'll be able to but not unless I leave the heat of the Caribbean behind.
