I strongly suspect that the threat of a suit is yet another part of the scam. Please arrange for a large male to be present at the time of the exchange (pup for $). You want a witness and you want to make sure she does not try to pull something funny. Also make the exchange in a public place, in daylight. If it were not for the welfare of the pup, I would tell her where to go with her threats.
