My groomer is the owner and I do tip. That line has gotten so blurry in the last decade (for hairstylists as well). It used to be taboo but now it seems no one knows what to do. I always tip owners and they always accept. I'm on the fence if I think that they should though. I would do what you feel comfortable with but I do agree, a Christmas gift is always a must.
