SOoooo I will be driving with my 3 kitties and my 8 month old Winston from Colorado to California. About a 17 hour trip I'm thinking with the moving truck.
I'm a bit nervous about traveling with everyone. I moved here with two of my kitties, who I know will be just fine but I've never traveled more than a couple hours with my puppy and my other cat...not sure how he'll react.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to go about this?
I was thinking of getting him a travel carrier adn just putting lots of blankies and stuff inside and then just stopping every couple hours to let him out / give him food and water? Or are there special things designed for long hours of travel?
Any advice would be much appreciated |
What ever you do, DO NOT drive that long way without spending the night at a motel or hotel. The red roof Inns are popular with people with pets.
If you don't have a look-out seat for you dog, then maybe a little crate. I would also crate the cats as they can cause an accident if they are scared.
Take bottled water, dish, paper towels, spray bottle of stain or spot remover, favorite toys, harness and leash and feed lighter meals.
I want to welcome you back to CA.

We did the same thing. Moved to TN. lasted 20 months and moved back. The only thing I miss about TN. is our new home and 6 1/2 acres.

I would never move out of CA. again unless it's to Spain or Italy.
