I have a little guy, Leo, who is 15 weeks. So, we are working on the same thing. He does very well with peeing on the pad, but we still have to watch for him to have to go poop. I try and keep him confined to the room with the pad when it "time" for him to poop. He usually poops first thing in the morning and after dinner. So at these times I keep him gated in the family room and watch for his "signal". Which is usually a wild running around in circles...almost like he can't find where he is suppose to go. When I see this I know that it is time. I then remind him where to go...I just tell him no,no, no when looks else where to go. In the beginning I had to carry him over to the pad. Then, I give him a special treat.
Anytime he does has an accident, it is a reminder to me that I wasn't keeping a close enough eye on him. |
