How old is your son? I agree that you need to be very careful with a Tiny dog and a small child. Yorkies have very fragile bones, especially if you are thinking of getting one on the smaller side. I would think that with a child, you would want one about 5-6 pounds which is still very small for a dog in general and is still within the breed standard. As far as price... I don't know of any cheap Yorkies either... I paid almost 2K for each of mine. Then you throw in grooming, vaccinations, teeth pulled, spay/neuter... they are an expensive breed to maintain as well. There are several members on YT that are in your area... you might try posting in the regional section also and maybe you could attend one of their meetup groups with your son so you could meet some other Yorkie lovers and get someadvice on finding a breeder with the right pup for your family! |
