dog's are carnivores... what do you think they did before we started keeping them as pets and feeding them kibble? There wasn't kibble just out growing on the ground for them to eat. They had to kill other animals to eat. And a lot of dogs will still hunt small game if they get the chance. There's a food chain hierarchy and rabbits are far down on the list...many animals catch and eat rabbits. Humans of course are at the top of the food chain
