I'm not a lot of help because I was never a full blown smoker...about half a pack a day. I was habitual i would smoke when i drank, talked with friends, drove, and walked. I found hard candy was great (something that takes about the same about of time, suckers?). Also this may sound dumb but i pretend smoked for a long time. anytime i was in a situation where i wanted to smoke i would bum a cigarette, but not lite it, just pretend i was smoking it. it did help, but everyone thought i was weird.
