The Smiths' washing machine is old. It is so inefficient that it uses $40 more electricity each month than a new washing machine would use.
The Smiths are thinking about buying a new washing machine for $1250.

If the Smiths buy the new washing machine, how many months will it take for the savings on their energy bill to equal the cost of the new washing machine?
