I'm so sorry to hear that she will be put down. My heart goes out to you losing a 13 year long companionship. I hope I do not sond insensitive but is she a cat or a dog, I was trying to read through the thread to figure this out and you mentioned your first time hearing her bark. I just wanted to clarify whether she was a dog or cat b/c she was refered to as a cat in one of the postings. Please do not take offense I am meerly confused.Either way I will pray for her and my condolences go out to you and your family.
