I am sending prayers to your friends pup. I do not have experiance with broken backs but Babybear broke his neck and he does not walk either. He tries but he doesn't quite have it yet. if there is anything I can do please let me know. Also have your friend tell the vets to do a good check of his neck with xrays. Just to be on the safe side.
