Doesn't it hurt them to put the rubber band in their hair? My hair/head hurts after I have my hair in a pony tail for very long and I don't want to do that to my puppy. Does it hurt her for me to put the barrettes and rubber bands in her hair?

How long should they be left on?
Is it ok for them to sleep with the pretty stuff in their hair?
