Rain Got a question on food!

Hey everyone,
My Buster has had 1 major bout with pancreatitis back in mid june of this year. Since then he has had two small attacks (better the next day). Saturday he got sick again(throwing up, listless, pacing as if he was in pain). These are all the same symptoms as his first Pancreas attack in June. My question is am I feeding him right. He is a 8 year old yorkie. I free feed Canidae dry kibble(lamb and rice)and in the evening I soak it in warm water so it will get soft. He and his sister love it and look forward to it every evening! He gets no table scraps and I discontinued all dog treats. Must be boring, I couldn't live like that! LOL... Should I talk to the vet about using famotidine for his stomach acid? I am at a loss in what to do to prevent any more attacks. Please help, I am so unsure... Vet says I am doing ok, but I still have a naging feeling there is something more that I can do. Sorry this is so long.
