When I first arrived in NYC 12 years ago, a friend of mine and I went shopping uptown. I left to go home and she continued shopping. She went into a Goodwill shop and found an Hermes Birkin bag for $48!! She had it authenticated and fixed up, which ended up costing her a fortune, but nothing compared to the $10,000 it would have cost new. Never underestimate the goodwill shop
