All have given you advice on the ramifications of breeding without doing your homework up front.

I'm gonna add my little story and a true story....

A week ago a young lady approached me. She has with her, her little Chi/Dobey.....Dobey was very pregnant.....What this young lady wanted was advice and what she needed to do. Now the pregnacy was accidental. So, I went on to feed her with every ounce of knowledge on what to prepare for....whelping supplies (tests were too late), what to look for the care of her baby....etc...I gave her a book to read, and a whelping video. I got a call yesterday afternoon. Little Dobey had gone into labor..I was on the phone, of and on with her for several hours....first stages of labor.....2nd stages and so on....as time went on she was getting more excited and labor was progressing and I was not feeling comfortable with the info she was telling me. At this point I told her to pack her little girl up and get her to Emergency....all signs pointed to a C-section....I got a call from her about an hour later....The vet was performing a C-section, spay and because this young lady was so upset the vet was going to keep momma and babies over night. I told her to prepare herself, because of the difficulty Dobey was having to whelp, the possibility that one or all puppies wouldn't live. Well little Dobey delivered 5 healthy babies...

What I'm attempting to say is this was a hard lesson to learn on a first whelp. The young lady said she never wanted to go through that again...she never wanted to be responsible for another dog having an accident as this...Spaying Dobey would have been much simpler than this ordeal.
