I don't know if the same applies but a few years ago I had two intact female labs (both dropoffs) well at first it was fighting over food then it escalated until they would fight till blood was pouring out until finally a few days after one huge fight I noticed one of the girls kept shaking her head, i figured another ear infection so I checked it out, well their ears are really floppy so I never saw that behind the ear there was a hole, the ear was ripped off her head! I had to have her put down because during surgery the vet found that the infection had gone into her skull and was eating the bone. Nevertheless I will not have two intact males or females, no matter how big or small they can get nasty imo.
