I have had expensive steps (foam off ebay) and I also had a ramp built for my dogs but actually the ones that have been the best were at Walgreen's for $10. I can take them apart if I travel with the gang and they are very lightweight. They are made out of plastic. You will probably need the 4 step and if you might want to check ebay for all sorts of kinds.
