Yes, the vet put Smarty on Royal Canine SO vet food and said no treats. I have read that some foods are safe, but for at least for now, it's just the special food. He does not seem to mind, and contrary to what I have read about other foods, this one claims to be a balanced diet. He is also on antibiotics, even though there has never been a urinalysis or bacterial culture performed. He can still pee, and he is not spotting around the house the way he was, so hopefully, it is not getting worse. The vet said this diet will go for at least 4 weeks, although I don't know how quickly I should see some benefit. thanks for the info.
