My boy was cryptorchid & we never had any strange side effects from it. Luckily it was subcutaneous - not in his abdomen or hard to find. It was a double incision neuter but they found it right there under the skin & all was well.
I hope your boy feels better! A vet exam would put a lot of worries to rest & give you options.
